World Polio Day October 2017 Video
Members saw parts of the 2017 World Polio Day video at last week’s meeting. It was filmed at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation facility in Seattle. We saw D5040 Past District Governor Dean Rohrs, who is now a Rotary International Vice President speak and introduce the trailer of an inspiring movie “Breathe”, heard polio survivor, Nigerian Ade Adepitan, share about a dream came true to be a wheelchair basketball player in Sydney 2000 Paralympics Games, learned about how technology is making a significant difference in averting a polio outbreaks using polio surveillance systems and saw actress Julia Roberts experienced first hand delivering polio plus vaccines in a cooler to a remote village.
