How to support these programs
Donation needs can change annually. As the holiday season approaches, check directly with each organization for their most pressing needs, which generally include:
- Financial donations: This is often the most flexible way to help, as it allows organizations to purchase exactly what is needed for hampers, such as grocery gift cards.
- New, unwrapped toys and gifts: Many programs distribute new gifts to children and youth.
- Non-perishable food items: Canned proteins, soups, and other essential food items are staples for holiday food hampers.
- Personal care products: Items like deodorant, shampoo, and diapers are always in demand.
