Informal Virtual Royal City Rotary Club Meeting

Rick J -Altough I am unable to attend Wednesday night meetings as I am one of the leaders in our annual Stephen Lewis Foundation GoGo Bike Fundraiser, I would like to give a shout out and a special thankyou to our fellow Rotarians for supporting me and this cause.  Thanks to all of you. I have raised over $2,500 so far and our team has raised over $25,000.
 
Every Wednesday night and Saturday Morning we lead the gang on 40-80 km rides in preparation for our 100km ride on September 13th
 
Tonights meeting - a special welcome to our Rotoracters - Maria, Catherine, Maria and Tam
The Rotoractors had their year ahead planning session last week establishing their direction, values and ethics
 
Tam questioned of the Hot Lunch program would continue
 
 
Picnic is Sept 6th from 2-6pm at Burnaby Foreshore Park. Bring your own food and enjoy some fellowship in the open air surrondings
 
Merrilyn's birthday was last week and she received a pair of Bonnie Henry shoes.
 
Merrilyn has asked for funding for chairs and desks. Nick to see if we can get a district grant to assist in this effort.
 
 
Merrilyn also indicated that there is an expectation to have box lunches and no cafeteria type lunches

Greeters This Week and the Next Two

Lets all join in and greet each other
 

Greeter Duties

Greeters are the first point of contact for guests, potential new members, and our members. Making all who attend our meeting feel welcome is the responsibility of all of us as we all take turns being greeters. All greeters should arrive no later than 6:40 am and be prepared to assist in setting up and preparing for the meeting. If a greeter cannot be present for their day of duties, please contact another member to fill in for you. Greeters will:

  • ensure that the sandwich board at the entrance.

  • ensure that flags and banners are in place.

  • welcome all members and guests and make them comfortable with the proceedings and surroundings, i.e., seating, coffee, schedule of meeting etc.

  • greet and sit with the speaker to gather information useful in providing a respectful and meaningful introduction of the speaker and the program.

  • thank the speaker and present the certificate of appreciation for their presentation. (Note: The certificate is NOT a contribution of $20.00 in the speakers’ name. We donate $20.00 to the Rotary Foundation in recognition of their presentation at the meeting.)

  • assist in taking down the flags, banners and place the sandwich board back in Kathy's office.
