- mother was evacuated from London during the war
- his school had 50 kids in 3 classrooms
- at 15 he joined the navy for 4 years
- trained as an engineer
- spent 2 1/2 years on an aircraft carrier
- at 19 he left the navy and travelled a lot
- met his first wife in Montreal, she was also from England
- with $400 in his pocket he moved to Vancouver
- had a job with the Hoover Company
- was a store manager at Zellers
- went out on his own in 1984 and bought an embroidery machine
- his 2 sons joined him in the business
- met Judy in 1988
- moved to the key in 2019
- goes bak to the ukonce per year
- has 8 grandlids
