Rotary Hockey Pool 2023/24

Pool sales in 2023              -    181 entries        -        $3,620 (-$1,640 or 82 less entries)
Pool sales in 2022              -    263 entries        -        $5,260

Total Club membership is 38, of which 27 are active and only 18 (47% of total membership) members sold any pools.

Noon Rotary Club sold 24 pools and Rotaract sold 1.

Should we continue with this fundraising event?

Is the expectation of selling 10 pools too much as only 6 members sold 10 or more pools while 6 members sold 1?

The beneficiary of these funds is the N W High School Hot Lunch program whose needs continue to expand.

Should we ask a PAC representative to speak to our Club on the effect of these funds?
Several members, including Alana, Alysha, Harp, Rick Janssen, Kathy and I spend a significant amount of time organizing this event.

The sponsorships totalling $3,000 for the prizes allows us to donate 100% of the pool sales to the beneficiary.

As you can see, the sales and sponsorships are very close this year.

Do our members need to be reminded and asked repeatedly to sell these pools?

Personally, Kathy and I have many return players as they really look forward to this event, this year we managed to sell 64 pools.

I’m reminded that charitable organizations, such as Rotary, tend to “burn out” their best volunteers as there aren’t enough members doing their fair share of the work to provide the funds to support our programs.
